Does Oak Knoll provide lunch?

Does Oak Knoll offer financial aid? Does this affect my admissions decision?

A

Oak Knoll offers $1.2 million dollars worth of financial assistance to kindergarten through grade 12 students. Applying for financial aid has no bearing on your admissions decision.

On our wireless campus, technology is visible throughout our curriculum, integrated in our classroom, and connects us to the global community, through the delivery of SMART Boards, laptops, and AlphaSmarts.

Lower School

What is your Lower School student/faculty ratio and average class size?

A

Our Lower School has a student/faculty ratio of 8:1. Kindergarten students are grouped into sections of 12-14 students, and students in grades 1-6 are divided into sections averaging 18 students.

What age does my child need to be to apply to kindergarten?

A

Children applying for kindergarten for the 2011-2012 school year must be five years old by October 1, 2011.

Do you provide extended care for students before and after school?

A

Yes, through our Adventures program we offer after-school and extended care programs. Extended care is offered in the mornings before school and also in the afternoons following school.

Do the Lower School students wear uniforms?

A

Our kindergarteners do not wear uniforms. Students in grades 1 to 6 are required to wear uniforms.

 

Upper School

What is your student/faculty ratio and average class size?

A

In the Upper School, the student/faculty ratio is 8:1 and average class size is 15.

What entrance examination is required to apply to the Upper School? How do we register?

A

Oak Knoll only accepts the ISEE exam through ERB; the Co-op and SSAT are not accepted. We offer the ISEE test on campus twice in the fall. To register, please call 212-672-9800.

What colleges do Oak Knoll seniors typically attend?

A

One hundred percent of our graduates move on to outstanding colleges and universities across the country. Please view our list of college acceptances for the class of 2010 and our four-year college matriculation list.

Can I schedule a student visit?

A

Yes. Once your application is submitted, the admissions office will contact you to arrange your visit. Applicants visit the grade to which they are applying.

Do the Upper School students wear uniforms?

A

Yes. We offer several uniform options, including sweatshirts.
