Below are the steps and deadlines for our enrollment process. Applications submitted after these deadlines will be considered on a rolling basis. If you have questions about space availability for the upcoming year, please contact the admissions team at 908-522-8109.
APPLICATION
Submit the admissions application, with the non-refundable $50 application fee. For applicants whose school search may be focused on Catholic schools with typically earlier notification dates, we offer an Early Application Process with a deadline of December 8, 2011. The Regular Application Process deadline is January 26, 2012 (dates refer to completion of the application process). Once Oak Knoll has received your application and fee, we will call you to schedule your visiting day.
VISITING DAY
Upper School applicants are required to spend the day visiting the grade to which they are applying. Visits are scheduled between October 26, 2011 and January 26, 2012. Applicants visit from 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Lunch is provided.
Applicants will meet with the admissions director during their visit.
PARENT CONFERENCES
A parent conference is an important part of the admissions process. If possible, the half-hour parent conferences will be scheduled to coincide with your daughter’s visit.
TESTING
Upper School applicants are required to take the ERB Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). The co-op and SSAT are not accepted. Oak Knoll offers the ISEE on campus Saturday, November 19, 2011 (registration deadline: October 30) and Saturday, December 10, 2011 (registration deadline: November 20). You may register through ERB by mail, fax, or phone, using the Oak Knoll school code 311430. Online registration is not available, as Oak Knoll is a closed testing site; this provides an all-girls environment for our applicants.
TRANSCRIPTS
A Release of Records Form is required for all Upper School applicants and needs to be submitted directly from your daughter’s school to the admissions office. This will include three years of grades and previous standardized testing scores.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Current English and Math Teacher Recommendation Forms are required for all Upper School applicants and need to be submitted directly from your child’s teachers to the admissions office. Forms should not be completed earlier than November 1, 2011. All recommendations are confidential. A third, and optional, recommendation is also available.
NOTIFICATIONS
The early application notification is mid-January 2012 (this parallels other Catholic school notifications).
The regular application notification is during the third week of February 2012.
