Cornelia Connelly was a visionary. Her vision was for young women to reap the benefits of single-sex education from grades 7 through 12. Following Cornelia’s plan, our Upper School provides opportunities for young women to focus on developing self-confidence and to explore and discover their voices as they become independent adults.

Current research validates, and Oak Knoll proves, that girls in a single-sex learning environment are setting high educational goals, breaking gender barriers, and emerging as leaders. As a member school of the National Coalition of Girls' Schools, we share the belief that at all girls schools:
- Girls put academics first.
- Girls enjoy not just equal opportunity, but every opportunity.
- Girls dare to take on – and succeed in – the real world.
- Girls thrive when their learning styles take center stage.
- Girls become leaders.
At Oak Knoll, our girls experience rigorous academics, the arts, competitive athletics, community service, and social interactions that challenge and encourage them to stand up, speak out, think critically outside the box, and take risks.
