Registration
We require all participants to fill out a registration form. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis; however we will notify you if we are not able to accept your child into the program. We do not send out confirmation letters. For classes that fill up quickly, a spot will not be held without a registration form and payment. Parents verbally requesting that their children be added to our class roster will be asked to fill out a registration form. This helps us with our record keeping and a “drop-in” fee lists. All registration, changes or transfers, and withdrawals must be made in writing.
Dismissal
At dismissal, kindergarten through sixth grade students meet our staff in the drama room for attendance and snack. While we send participant lists to all homeroom teachers, we recommend letting your child’s homeroom teacher know your child will be participating in an After-school Adventures program. Snack and juice is provided by the Adventures program for all registered participants and drop-ins. If you prefer, you may send in a snack with your child. Due to the high number of students with peanut allergies, we ask that you avoid sending in snacks containing peanuts.
Drop-In Care
In addition to offering full session registration, we also offer the option of children “dropping-in” to a club. Oak Knoll students may drop in on any day by sending a note to their homeroom teacher. Students will then be directed to the drama room at the time of dismissal. Students will be sent to a club program based on available space. Not all clubs are available for drop-in; to check availability of a specific club, please call 908-522-8186.
Any child not picked up in the car line by 3:25 p.m. will be sent to the drama room. A child is automatically charged a drop-in fee if they join our program after school. Please review our drop-in and extended care fee chart.
After-School Extended Care
For parents who cannot pick up their child at 4:30 p.m., students will be supervised in the Bonaventura Hall Media Center for homework and computer games. You can drop in any day that we are open, or sign up for a specific day each week – up to all five days in the week. Our extended care runs until 5:30 p.m. each day. AM Care
A child is automatically charged for AM care if arriving in the library prior to 7:45 a.m. Our staff uses the library clock. Please review our extended care fee chart.
Early Dismissal
If the school has an early dismissal at 1 p.m., all Adventures programs will be cancelled. There are times when the school has a 3 p.m. dismissal with all after-school and sport activities cancelled. We will have a staff member to supervise any child that cannot be picked up during normal dismissal until you can make other arrangements. For the safety of our staff, we ask that you pick up your child as soon as possible.
