Day Camp

Day Camp offers a well-rounded experience allowing campers to discover and explore their interests, values and talents in a structured and nurturing environment. Through supportive encouragement offered by certified teachers and college-age counselors, campers have an opportunity to experience self-confidence, a sense of pride and accomplishment. Each fun-filled day, campers are taught by specialists in music, art, sports (including lacrosse, fencing and archery), computers, gymnastics, tennis and swimming. Campers have the opportunity to acquire, practice and perfect valuable skills including problem solving, teamwork and making healthy and safe choices. Campers’ days are filled with playing, socializing, exploring and experimenting in the company of friends and counselors.

Swimming lessons are offered to campers each day. First grade campers receive their swim lessons in our on-campus pool. Swim lessons are conducted in our 20' by 40' above-ground pool that is four feet deep - no deep end. Our certified lifeguards provide the swim lessons with two guards in the water and one guard on deck. In addition, at least one group conselor remains at the pool to assist with group supervision. Second through fifth grade campers receive their swim lessons at The Connection in Summit. Our group counselors provide supervision during transportation, in the locker room, and on the pool deck. Instructors from The Connection proivde the swim lessons.

Campers attend full-day sessions from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. we provide a full lunch with choice of hot entree, sandwich, salad bar, and dessert in our air-conditioned dining hall.  Each group has its own schedule, with the day divided into 40-minute periods. The counselor/camper ratios are 1:6 for first grade, 1:8 for second and third grades and 1:10 for fourth and fifth grades.
