19 Oak Knoll Seniors Make History on National Signing Day 2025

Signing Day 2025

Excellence took center stage inside Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child’s Mother Mary Campion Center for the Performing Arts, where a record 19 senior student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent — the largest signing class in school history and a proud milestone for the all-girls Upper School.

National Signing Day has become a defining celebration in high school athletics, marking the first opportunity for student-athletes to officially commit to playing NCAA sports at the collegiate level. While athletes are not required to sign on the first day of the period, many choose to do so, making the event a nationwide tradition.

The celebration took place on Thursday, November 13, 2025, before a gathering of faculty, classmates, family members, and coaches, honoring a remarkable group of young women whose achievements reflect Oak Knoll’s tradition of faith, perseverance, teamwork, and purpose.

Oak Knoll’s Class of 2025 signees represent the best of the Royals’ tradition of athletics and leadership. Many are team captains, peer mentors, and club presidents; others serve in campus ministry, community outreach, and student government — embodying Holy Child founder Cornelia Connelly’s ethos to lead through “Actions, Not Words.”

“Anyone who has played a sport knows that it is a true team effort to compete. So much of what these students have accomplished is in part due to all of those who are in this room with us today,” Childs said, thanking Head of School Jennifer Landis, Upper School Division Head Laura Hollenbaugh, the College Counseling Office, faculty, coaches, and families for their support.

“The car rides, the pasta dinners, the supportive hugs, and everything in between have helped shape your daughters in immeasurable ways,” she said.

A Record-Breaking Class of Royals

Each of the 19 signees was introduced individually and recognized for her athletic and academic accomplishments. Collectively, they will compete across six NCAA sports at some of the most competitive colleges and universities in the country, including those from the Ivy League, Atlantic Coast Conference, NESCAC, Patriot League, and other notable conferences.

Prepared to Lead — On and Off the Field

Childs closed with a message of encouragement and pride:

“Girls, it’s not an easy feat to get where you are today — and college will not be any easier. The Royal Way has prepared you for all the challenges and opportunities that await you. Lean on your work ethic, lean on your faith, and lean on one another. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to support you the rest of this year and beyond.”

The ceremony concluded with family photos, coffee, and celebration — a fitting tribute to the young women who have made history, inspired their peers, and carried the Oak Knoll tradition of excellence to the next level.

“It really is a true testament to yourselves, to all the people in this room, and to those supporting you who aren’t here,” Childs said. “We’re so excited to watch you continue to develop — not only as students and athletes, but as people.”
