New Parent Login Access for myOKS
Blackbaud, our website provider for Oak Knoll’s parent portal, myOKS, is requiring all schools to adopt a new Blackbaud ID by July 26, 2022. This new ID will offer enhanced password protection and security as parents/guardians navigate myOKS, Magnus Health, and our Tuition Management system with a single sign-on. By transitioning to Blackbaud ID, your data is secured behind stronger authentication standards.
Students and faculty/staff have already adopted the Blackbaud ID and need to take no action. Parents/guardians, this is for you:
On or before July 26, 2022, Blackbaud will require all parents/guardians to update their myOKS username to the new “Blackbaud ID,” which is the email address associated with your myOKS account. Each parent/guardian must have their own unique email address in order to establish a unique Blackbaud ID. On July 26, you will no longer be able to log in to myOKS with your old username.
On May 16, 2022, you* will receive an email from Blackbaud inviting you to convert your existing username to the email address we have for you on file. *Note: This only pertains to families who entered Oak Knoll before 2022 and you currently have a “legacy myOKS username” of first.lastname. Families who entered Oak Knoll in 2022 and already log in to myOKS with an email address do not need to take any action.
Action Steps:
For those who have a legacy myOKS username of first.lastname, please click the unique link in the email you receive on May 16, 2022. You will need to sign up for a new Blackbaud ID using the email address associated with your current myOKS account (don’t worry — it’s just giving you new login credentials — your account will stay the same). When you click the link in the invitation, you will be brought to a screen that allows you to create your new username/password in one of two ways:
Option 1: Your email address will be prepopulated in the email field and you will create a new unique password. Please also enter your first and last name in the open fields. Then, click “Sign Up.”
OR
Option 2: You can choose to bypass creating a password and click “Sign Up with Google” (as shown in the screenshot below). You will be required to log in to Google using the same Gmail account we have for you on file. Note: In order to use this option, the email address associated with your myOKS account must match the Gmail account you are attempting to log in to.
Ugh. Yes. We know it’s a drag, but if you do not adopt the new Blackbaud ID, you will lose access to myOKS on July 26, 2022. This means you will not be able to see student schedules, grades/report cards, access the school calendar, access and submit health forms, pay tuition or reenroll. 🙁 #BlackbaudMadeUsDoIt
Totally. You will first want to make sure that the email address associated with your myOKS profile is the same as the email used for the other school’s Blackbaud ID. Then, you will need to log in to myOKS using that email address to connect Oak Knoll.
You are not alone! We have several families who designate one email address for all things Oak Knoll. The problem with this going forward is that Blackbaud is requiring each family member to have their own unique email address associated with their Blackbaud ID. We unfortunately cannot control this. We will need each parent/guardian to ensure their myOKS account has their own unique email address that will become your unique Blackbaud ID.
If you forgot your password, no worries; it happens!
With the new Blackbaud ID, Oak Knoll unfortunately will no longer be able to reset usernames or passwords for users on myOKS (this is part of that enhanced security we were talking about earlier). BUT DO.NOT.PANIC. You just need to visit oakknoll.myschoolapp.com, select Forgot password, enter the email address associated with your Blackbaud ID, and select Send. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you don’t receive the reset password email, check your Junk folder.
You can also change your password at any time in your myOKS profile. Just select Change password under Authentication settings. For information on password requirements, see how to manage personal information on your Blackbaud ID.
