Come Grow with Oak Knoll

The application process begins once you have submitted a brief Applicant Profile, which provides preliminary biographical and family information. The application fee is $75, payable online with Applicant Profile submission. Once the Applicant Profile has been submitted, you will have access to Oak Knoll’s admission portal, which includes your application checklist of required application materials. For Grades 5 & 6, Oak Knoll also accepts the Standard Application Online (SAO). To learn more about using the SAO and begin your application, click here.

• Parent Questionnaire: This comprehensive form asks parents or caregivers to share insights into your child's development, interests, experiences, and your family's values. This questionnaire is an essential part of our admission process, helping us understand how your child might thrive in our community.
• Applicant Questionnaire (5 & 6): As part of the application process, 5th and 6th grade applicants are required to complete a personal questionnaire. This questionnaire is designed to help us get to know you better and should be completed in your own words. This questionnaire gives you an opportunity to showcase your personality, interests, and problem-solving skills. It's an important part of your application, allowing us to understand how you might contribute to and thrive in our Oak Knoll community.
• Current Teacher Recommendation: 
  • Grades 1 -4: To be completed by your child’s current teacher.  This form will become available on November 1 on your application checklist found in the admission portal.  Through our system you will be able to email the teacher directly the confidential form.  The recommendation form will provide Insight from current teachers regarding your child’s academic, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Grades 5-6 : Two forms, one to be completed by your child’s current Language Arts teacher and the other by your child’s current Math teacher.  These forms will become available on November 1 on your application checklist found in the admission portal.  Through our system you will be able to email the teacher directly the confidential form.  The recommendation form will provide insight from current teachers in their specific subject area regarding your child’s academic, social, and emotional development.  If your child has the same teacher for both Language Arts and Math, please have the teacher complete both forms. 
• Program Director, Principal or School Counselor Recommendation: This form will become available on November 1 on your application checklist found in the admission portal.  Through our system you will be able to email the Principal/Director/School Counselor directly the confidential form.  The recommendation form will provide Insight from your current program’s Principal/Director/or School Counselor regarding your child’s development and parent participation. 
• Release of Records (Official Transcripts or Developmental Progress Report): This form will become available on November 1 on your application checklist found in the admission portal.  Through our system you will be able to email your child’s current program directly to submit official reports. We ask for official transcripts from the current academic year and at least two previous years (when applicable).

• Applicants to Grades 1-6 spend a morning at Oak Knoll, joining the class they would enter the following year. During their visit, they will participate in regular classroom activities, interact with current Oak Knoll students, and engage with our faculty. This immersive experience offers a glimpse into daily life at Oak Knoll and allows us to observe how well they integrate into our community.  The Classroom Visit Day is a valuable opportunity for both the applicant and our admission team, helping to ensure a good match between the student and our school.
• Following their Classroom Visit Day, 5th and 6th grade applicants will participate in a brief, informal interview with a member of our admission team. This one-on-one conversation helps us learn more about each applicant and gives them an opportunity to share their thoughts about their visit experience.  We'll discuss the applicant's interests, aspirations, and what they're looking for in a school community and encourage students to ask any questions they may have about Oak Knoll. This personal interaction provides valuable insights into each applicant's character and potential fit within the Oak Knoll community.

• Grades 1: As part of our comprehensive application process, a member of the Oak Knoll Office of Admission will administer a brief developmental assessment during their Classroom Visit Day.
• Grades 2, 3 & 4: As part of our comprehensive application process, we require students applying to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade to complete the Primary Level Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE).  We will administer the test here during their Classroom Visit Day.  Instructions on how to enroll for the ISEE will be provided when the Classroom Visit Day is scheduled. 
• Grades 5 & 6: As part of our comprehensive application process, we require students applying to 5th and 6th grade to complete the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). This application season, we are pleased to offer the paper-based version of the ISEE exclusively for Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child applicants on our campus on Saturday, January 11th. However, applicants are not required to test at Oak Knoll and may register independently for an alternative date or location.  All scores must be received by January 24, 2025.
