Application Process

Visiting Campus

We invite prospective families to explore Oak Knoll’s Upper School by attending one of our group tours or the Upper School Open House. These experiences provide an excellent opportunity to learn more about Oak Knoll’s curriculum, traditions, and extracurricular offerings. We offer several opportunities throughout the fall to help you discover our community.

For applicants and parents/guardians, we offer individualized tours on the day of your interview. These visits, led by our Student Ambassadors, provide an in-depth look at life at Oak Knoll.

Note: Accepted students will be invited to spend a day on campus before making a commitment to enroll.

Apply

The application process begins once you have submitted a brief Applicant Profile, which provides preliminary biographical and family information. The application fee is $75, payable online with the Applicant Profile submission. Once the Applicant Profile has been submitted, you will have access to Oak Knoll’s admission portal, which includes your application checklist of required application materials.

Supporting Materials

To complete your application, the following supporting materials are required:

Parent Questionnaire: This comprehensive form asks parents or caregivers to share insights into your daughter's development, interests, experiences, and your family's values and interest in our all-girls Independent Catholic School. This questionnaire is an essential part of our admission process, helping us understand how your daughter might thrive in our community.

Student Questionnaire: This questionnaire is designed to help us get to know your daughter better and should be completed in her own words. This form gives her the opportunity to showcase her personality, interests, and problem-solving skills. It's an important part of her application, allowing us to understand how she might contribute to and thrive in our Oak Knoll community.

Current Teacher Recommendations: Two forms, one to be completed by your daughter’s current Language Arts/English teacher and the other by your daughter’s current Math teacher. These forms will become available on November 1 on your application checklist found in the admission portal. Through our system you will be able to email the teacher directly the confidential form. The recommendation form will provide insight from current teachers in their specific subject area regarding your daughter’s academic, social, and emotional development. If your daughter has the same teacher for both Language Arts and Math, please have the teacher complete both forms. Any additional recommendations are optional and may also be submitted through the admissions portal as well. Recommendations should only come from individuals who know your daughter well.

Principal or School Counselor Recommendation: This form will become available on November 1 on your application checklist found in the admission portal. Through our system you will be able to email the Principal or School Counselor directly the confidential form. The recommendation form will provide insight from your current school’s Principal or School Counselor regarding your daughter’s development and parent participation.

Release of Records: This form will become available on November 1 on your application checklist found in the admission portal. Through our system you will be able to email your daughter’s current school directly to submit official transcripts. We ask for official transcripts from the current academic year and at least two previous years. Official transcripts must come directly from the school; we cannot accept copies of report cards from parents.

Tour & Interview

After submitting the Applicant Profile, you will be able to schedule your daughter’s interview and individualized tour. The tour, guided by a Student Ambassador, is designed to offer insight into student life at Oak Knoll. During the same visit, your daughter will participate in an individual interview with a member of the Admissions Team. This one-on-one conversation allows us to learn more about your daughter’s interests, experiences, and goals while also giving her the chance to ask questions and share what excites her most about joining the Oak Knoll community. The interview is an important part of the process, offering a deeper connection between the student and the school. During this time, parents or guardians will also meet with a member of the admission office.

Testing Requirements

All applicants must take either the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) or the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test). Oak Knoll will host three paper-based testing dates specifically for our applicants:

November 16, 2024 – SSAT
November 23, 2024 – ISEE
January 11, 2025 – ISEE

For additional details or to register online, please visit www.iseetest.org or www.ssat.org, using Oak Knoll’s school member codes: ISEE - 311430 and SSAT - 5500. These codes will allow for your scores to be sent directly to Oak Knoll’s Office of Admission

Please Note: Early round applicants must submit test scores by December 1, 2024.

Deadlines and Important Dates

Early Round (Grades 7 and 9)
- November 1, 2024 - Applicant Profile Due
- November 15, 2024 - If applying for Financial Assistance the Clarity Application is due
- December 1, 2024 - Supporting Materials Due

Regular Round (All Other Applicants)
- December 1, 2024 - Applicant Profile Due
- January 3, 2025 - If applying for Financial Assistance the Clarity Application is due
- January 27, 2025 - Supporting Materials Due

All materials must be submitted for applications to be considered complete to be considered by the Admission Committee.

Admission decisions will be sent on February 28, 2025.

Did You Know?

Grades 7 and 9 are the most common Upper School entry points; however, approximately 10% of new students enter in other grades.
