June Adventures is a yearly camp that’s filled with learning, creativity, and a fun experience. I had the opportunity to work alongside Mrs. Higgins and Mrs.Wilson in a group of Lower School students, as well as children from the local community. Together, we created an environment that blended interactive and learning activities for kids to engage meaningfully. Whether it’s helping with our daily crafts, selecting books for a read-aloud, or participating in group activities, I found joy in connecting with our campers and supporting Oak Knoll’s faculty members.

The following week of Adventures shifted its focus to our performance arts program. I continued to work with Mrs.Higgins and Mrs.Wilson while collaborating with Mrs.Cepparulo’s musical project. This week was intriguing as Mrs.Cepparulo’s group solely focused on all aspects of theater. During this period, I had the opportunity to assist the theater students by rehearsing their roles, preparing behind the scenes with all the actors, and guiding them through their cues. It was truly remarkable to see the final performance in Campion Center after all of the enthusiasm and growth witnessed in each rehearsal. 

Reflecting back on my experience, my time spent at June Adventures was fulfilling. This camp taught me valuable teamwork and leadership skills when working alongside Oak Knoll’s educators, passionate students, and aspiring actors. Additionally, June Adventures helped deepen my appreciation for teachers across all age groups as I recognized the preparation that goes into balancing an educational and enjoyable experience. I’m grateful for the connections I made with the Oak Knoll community, and I hope to continuously support the program in the future.
