Celebrating the Gifts and Talents of Each Child
Little Acorns Pre-K @ Oak Knoll is a program that engages students in a way that sparks their creativity and critical thinking and fosters the development of their independence and self-esteem.
Oak Knoll celebrates the rich diversity within our community and fosters an atmosphere of inclusion. Students are excited to be an active participant in their class and in their school community and learn to collaborate respectfully with others. Students learn in a nurturing environment that inspires them to approach each new challenge with a joyful spirit.
Our curriculum is designed with the awareness of each child as a unique and intrinsically motivated learner. Pre-K students experience guided as well as self-directed learning in the areas of:
- Culture studies
The curriculum is enriched with in-class centers, which children can choose to explore as their natural curiosity inspires them. The curriculum is enriched by a selection of specialty classes woven into the daily program including music (vocal and instrumental), drama, art, physical education, world languages, movement, and technology. Weekly visits to the Lower School Library allow for children to select books on subjects of their own interest as well as those connected to units of study.
