Four houses. One school. Oak Knoll’s House System was unveiled in 2023 to build community, engage students in campus life, develop leadership skills, and strengthen relationships across all grades and interests, PK-12. Like the Harry Potter houses at Hogwarts, every Oak Knoll student is sorted into one of four houses — each named after important places in the life of Cornelia Connelly — founder of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus (SHCJ). Houses gain points through spirited competitions in sports, the arts, academics, community service, cultural and social activities, and more.

Our fall sorting ceremonies are magical experiences; we can’t wait to see which house your child will join!

Our Houses:

  • Mayfield: named after the Old Palace of Mayfield in Mayfield, England, Cornelia purchased and restored the building into a church before welcoming students in 1872.
  • Rosemont: named for Rosemont, PA, where the American Province of the SHCJ is located.
  • Sussex: named for St. Leonards on the Sea, where Cornelia lived the longest and often referred to as “the dearest of all places on earth.”
  • Towanda: named for the first school founded in America by the SHCJ in 1862.
