Oak Knoll receives NJAIS accreditation

Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child is pleased to announce that the school has achieved 10-year accreditation from the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools.
The NJAIS Accreditation Program is one of a select few recognized at the international level through the International Council Advancing Independent School Accreditation.
“I am delighted, pleased and proud that we achieved this milestone,” said Head of School Timothy J. Saburn. “This is an affirmation of the health of our organization, our proud tradition of excellence and commitment to mission. I am deeply appreciative of our faculty co-chairs who drove this process, and the dedication of our faculty, staff and administration who represent our school.”
Over the course of the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years — under the leadership of co-chairs Alicia Grimes, Lower School Language Arts and Reading teacher, and Sarah Sicari, Upper School Theology teacher — Oak Knoll School underwent a rigorous self-study and reflection, along with a three-day onsite visit from the NJAIS Accreditation Visiting Team.
As part of the NJAIS accreditation, the school received the following major commendations for:
-          Recruiting, developing and retaining a mission-driven faculty and staff.
-          Promoting a community of students who embody the values of Cornelia Connelly.
-          Welcoming and engaging families in the education of their children and supporting familial needs.
-          Creating a balanced, holistic, educational program.
-          Providing steadfast leadership at many levels that has guided the school and nurtured the students and staff.
-          Fostering and empowering leadership among the women in the Upper School.
-          Developing proactive, strategic financial management.
NJAIS is a nonprofit association of independent schools throughout New Jersey. Founded in 1958, NJAIS has 87 member-schools and has been accrediting schools since 1995.
