NJ.com recognized the Royals after a historic 2019 campaign that culminated in a 10-8 victory over Moorestown on Saturday, June 8 at Kean University. The team won its first-ever tournament title in 2015.
“I am so proud of everything these young ladies have accomplished on and off the field this season,” Head Coach Rachel Lasda said. “Every player worked hard daily, setting high expectations for herself and her teammates.”
NJ.com also recognized several players for individual accolades with Katie Duttenhofer ’19 and Aine Maseker ’20 named All-State First and Second teams, respectively.
Duttenhofer, Riley Campbell ’20, Julia Ford ’20, Keelin Schlageter ’20, Christine Sieber ’19, Maseker and Caitlin McHale ’19 were all named to the website’s All-Group 1 First Team.
Colleen Quinn ’21, Kayleigh Wolff ’19 and Caroline Ramsey ’19 were named to the All-Group 1 Second Team.
The tournament victory followed the Royals winning the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 titleafter defeating Glen Ridge. This set up a semifinal tournament matchup where they prevailed over Haddonfield.
It was the second straight year the Royals won the state sectional over Glen Ridge and is the program’s seventh state sectional title in a row and ninth since 2005.
The sectional victory came just days after the team won the NJSIAA Prep A Championship for the third year in a row. It was the program’s 14th Prep A Championship since 2004 and its eighth in the last nine years.
Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child is a Catholic independent school coeducational from kindergarten to grade 6 and all girls in grades 7 to 12.
