14 Oak Knoll Linguists recognized for excelling on National Latin Exam
James McEvoy

Fourteen members of Oak Knoll’s Upper School were recently recognized with certificates of commendation and medals for their performance on the National Latin Exam.

During a presentation on Monday, April 20, 2026, Upper School World Language teachers Dr. Jessica Kapteyn and Rebecca Mull presented the awards to students who excelled on an exam that assesses not only Latin language and grammar, but also Roman history, literature, and culture.

Dr. Kapteyn noted that success on the exam reflects both skill and commitment, as students dedicate additional time outside of class to prepare for the assessment.

“This recognition is a testament to these students’ commitment to scholarship and their dedication to a language that is more impactful than many realize,” she said. “We are proud to share their meaningful accomplishment with the entire Oak Knoll community.”
