Oak Knoll’s Upper School Student Diversity Leadership Board hosted Oak Knoll’s annual Community Dialogue Night on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, themed “From Awareness to Action: Addressing Misinformation.” Students, families, and educators came together for an evening of insightful discussions and collaborative learning, shining a spotlight on the far-reaching effects of misinformation and ways to counter it.
The event, expertly led by our incredible student leaders, featured dynamic conversations on how misinformation impacts trust, education, and young minds. Attendees explored practical solutions to combat false information, including improving media literacy, practicing critical thinking, verifying sources, and fostering open and respectful conversations in daily life. These discussions encouraged participants to reflect on their roles in building a more informed and thoughtful community.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our SDLB members for their leadership, dedication, and exceptional teamwork in creating an inclusive and impactful event. Their hard work not only tackled complex topics but also inspired others to take action and engage in meaningful dialogue.
The evening was a powerful reminder of the potential our students have to lead positive change and shape a brighter future. We are so proud of their commitment to fostering understanding and sparking thoughtful conversations that bring our school community together.
