Oak Knoll Field Hockey Captures Non-Public State Championship Title
Meghan Hodgin

Oak Knoll’s varsity field hockey team capped a dominant postseason run with a commanding 5-0 win over No. 3 Camden Catholic on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Bordentown.

The Royals, who defeated Camden Catholic in last year’s state final as well, defended their title with authority, earning their 14th overall state championship and extending their streak to 13 straight finals — now fifth-most in New Jersey history.

The state title punctuates a remarkable season for the No. 1 team in New Jersey and No. 4 nationally. After earning a first-round bye, the Royals surged through the state tournament bracket, defeating No. 8 Koinonia 10-0 in the quarterfinals and shutting out No. 4 Kent Place 4-0 in the semifinals.

Just days earlier, Oak Knoll claimed the North Jersey Non-Public Sectional Championship with a 3-0 win over Pingry — its third straight postseason shutout against the Big Blue and the program’s 14th consecutive sectional title and 18th overall.

The Royals continued their county dominance this fall as well, capturing a 16th straight Union County Tournament Championship with a gritty 2-1 victory over third-seeded Johnson.

Oak Knoll concludes its 2025 campaign with a stellar 22-1 record, further cementing the program’s legacy as one of the most successful field hockey dynasties in New Jersey.
