Oak Knoll Joins Dialogue at Widening the Lens Diversity Conference
Meghan Hodgin

Members of the Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child community joined educators and students from across New Jersey on November 15, 2025, at the 10th annual Widening the Lens Diversity Conference, hosted by Far Brook School, continuing a long-standing partnership rooted in shared values and purpose.

Marking a decade of meaningful dialogue, this year’s conference — Celebrating 10 Years of Widening the Lens: Living Our Missions and Staying the Course — brought together independent schools to reflect on progress made and recommit to the principles that guide their work. Sessions focused on issues central to school communities today, including belonging, equity, identity, and community.

Oak Knoll was represented by a cross-section of its community, including students, faculty, parents, administrators, alumnae/i, and trustees:

  • Magdalene Battista ’26
  • Maria Hargens ’02, Lower School Admission Director
  • Laura Hollenbaugh, Upper School Division Head
  • Julia Jacobson ’06, Trustee
  • Mackenzie Lane, Lower School Faculty
  • Melissa Miller, Director of Community Engagement and Belonging
  • Dale Ramdass P’26, P’30
  • Savannah Ramdass ’26
  • Amy-Sharee Smith ’03, Alumna
  • Christine Spies, Lower School Division Head
  • Natalie White, College Counseling Administrative Assistant

Through dialogue, reflection, and collaboration, participants engaged in conversations that mirrored Oak Knoll’s commitment to forming individuals who live by faith, learn by doing, and lead by example.
