Oak Knoll graduate Maris McGinty ’26 has been named the recipient of the Quinn Carney Burke Midfielder of the Year Award by the New Jersey Lacrosse Foundation, a statewide honor recognizing one of New Jersey’s top high school girls lacrosse midfielders.

McGinty is one of six student-athletes across the state selected to receive a 2026 New Jersey Lacrosse Foundation Girls High School Award. According to the organization, honorees were chosen by a committee representing players from throughout New Jersey and will be recognized at the New Jersey Lacrosse Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on July 21.

A standout three-season varsity athlete and captain of Oak Knoll’s soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams, McGinty helped lead the Royals to a Union County Tournament title and a berth in the Non-Public state championship game this spring. In June, she was also named Oak Knoll’s Athlete of the Year, the school’s highest athletic honor, and was recognized earlier this year for academic achievement at the Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children’s annual Hoopfest showcase.

McGinty helped guide Oak Knoll to a state lacrosse championship during her sophomore year and has earned numerous honors throughout her high school career, including USA All-American recognition and first-team all-county, all-state, all-conference, and all-prep honors in lacrosse.

This fall, McGinty will continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Notre Dame, where she plans to study business and play lacrosse.

McGinty’s latest honor reflects not only her excellence on the field, but also the leadership, dedication, and competitive spirit she brought to Oak Knoll throughout her time as a Royal.
