Oak Knoll Upper School Performing Arts students enchanted audiences last week with their stunning production of the Tony Award-winning musical Pippin. Held from February 27 through March 1 in the Mother Mary Campion Center for the Performing Arts, the performances were met with glowing praise for the students’ talent, dedication, and the show’s powerful message.
Over the course of three performances — two evening shows and a Saturday matinée—29 Upper School students took the stage to deliver an unforgettable rendition of Pippin. The musical, with its enduring score by acclaimed composer Stephen Schwartz, tells the soul-stirring story of a young man in search of life’s meaning and purpose. Audiences were captivated by the students’ portrayal of Pippin’s quest, from moments of triumph and ambition to the realization that life’s beauty is found in the simple, everyday wonders.
The production was a community effort that displayed the heart and spirit of Oak Knoll. From the dazzling choreography to the incredible set designs and costumes, each element came together to immerse the audience in a world filled with music, energy, and heartfelt storytelling.
Oak Knoll is incredibly proud of the Upper School students and everyone involved in making Pippin such a triumphant success. This production not only showcased the immense talent within our community but also reminded us all of the importance of connection, purpose, and the beauty of living in the moment.
We also want to thank our attendees — the families, friends, and community members who came together to support the students. Your energy, encouragement, and applause remind us of the power of the arts to inspire and unite.
Stay tuned and mark your calendars for the next time our performing artists take the stage — during the Upper School Dance Concert on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the Mother Mary Campion Center.
