The Class of 2038 Is Off to Kindergarten
Meghan Hodgin

In a joyful celebration of growth, friendship, and purpose, Oak Knoll’s Class of 2038 — our fifth class of Little Acorns — officially moved up from pre-K to kindergarten this spring. The Moving-Up Ceremony, held in the Bonaventura Hall Chapel on Friday, May 30, 2025, marked a proud moment not just for students and families but for the entire Oak Knoll community as we continue to celebrate our 100th year of Holy Child education.

“Rooted in learning, joy, and faith, our Little Acorns have blossomed this year,” said Lower School Division Head Christine Spies. “We can’t wait to watch them continue to grow as they branch out into kindergarten and beyond.”

The celebration included a series of heartfelt songs performed in both English and Spanish, showcasing the students’ joy, confidence, and growth. Among the highlights was When I Grow Up, an original composition by Lower School teacher Marissa Germinario that reflected each child’s dreams for the future. The ceremony also featured a touching reading of I Wish You More by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, shared by Pre-K teacher Lynn Sharp — a moment that perfectly captured the love, encouragement, and endless possibilities that await these Little Acorns as they take their next step.

As the ceremony came to a close, families and friends were treated to a heartwarming video montage, capturing special moments of learning, laughter, and growth from throughout the Pre-K year. Then, with joy and confidence, the students proudly sang, “Well, I’m off to kindergarten, yes, I am!” — a fitting sendoff for this bright, curious, and deeply connected group.

Congratulations, Class of 2038! We can’t wait to see all you’ll do next year and in the years to come.
