Upper School Admissions Process

Our All-Girls Middle and High School Admissions Process

Thank you for considering Oak Knoll. We value your application and plan to review it with great interest and care. Our process is competitive, personal, and all about finding the right fit. We seek qualified young women who will enrich and be enriched by Oak Knoll. We hope that you’re one of them.
We routinely accept applications from students entering grades 7 and 9. Enrollment opportunities for grades 8 and 10 are based on attrition. Please contact the Upper School Admissions Office to discuss openings. 

Admissions Process At a Glance

1. Complete an online application
Promptly submitting your application and non-refundable $50 application fee secures your spot at one of our school visits. 
2. Visit Us
Spend a day with a student in your entry grade. You’ll attend class with her and meet with the Admissions Office. We offer a 30-minute parent conference the day of your school visit. The health form is required for the visit.
4. Submit teacher recommendations
We require two recommendations*: one from a current English teacher and one from a current math teacher. You may submit an optional third recommendation. Please have your teachers submit these to the admissions office electronically via the applicant portal.
5. Submit transcripts and test scores
Complete the Release of Records Form and forward it to your school office. Your school will then submit electronically your transcript* and standardized test scores directly to our Admissions Office.
6. Register for and take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)
In order to ensure that your ISEE scores are submitted on time, register as soon as possible (at least three weeks before the test date.)

Test dates: November 18, 2017 (registration deadline: October 27)
                   December 16, 2017 (registration deadline: November 24)

  • Visit www.iseetest.org
  • Choose ISEE
  • Click the blue button that says “Register for ISEE at a School Test Site”
  • Fill out the form
  • Note: Oak Knoll’s member ID is 311430. This ID will direct your scores to Oak Knoll. Applicants taking the test at Oak Knoll must email nora.burd@oakknoll.org for the invitation code
Application Deadlines: 
  • Early Application Process: December 5, 2017
  • Regular Application Process: January 25, 2018
*ISEE scores must be received prior to the deadline date.

Application Deadlines

The December 5, 2017 Early Application Process Deadline is only for applicants whose school search is solely focused on Catholic schools, which notify earlier than other schools.

The January 25, 2018 Regular Application Process Deadline is for all applicants who may be applying to a broad range of schools that may include independent, public, Catholic and magnet schools.

*Applications received after the January deadline date will be considered on a rolling basis, only if spaces become available.
