I joined Oak Knoll in my freshman year of high school, excited but nervous about the new change in my life. I wanted to experience a new change in high school because at my prior school, the class sizes were about thirty to forty-five students in each class. I had trouble focusing and grasping the information during class because of the large number of students. Transitioning to Oak Knoll seemed like the best choice for me because the class sizes were significantly smaller. I still remember the first day of soccer pre-season in August, and I knew nobody. Immediately, a bunch of girls called me over and wanted to know more about me! I was so grateful for how welcoming the Oak Knoll community was to me, and it made me feel less nervous going into the first day of school. On the first day of school, I met so many great people and bonded with so many people with different interests. The Oak Knoll community allowed me to bond with people in my grade, along with people in other grades. The Oak Knoll community immediately felt like family. At Oak Knoll, everyone celebrates your achievements, big or small, and I have felt immense support since I arrived here. I am so grateful for Oak Knoll, which has allowed me to make all these friendships that will last a lifetime and shaped me into the person I am today.
