About 12 years ago, I began my journey here at Oak Knoll, and each year has shaped me into the person that I am today. Being part of Oak Knoll’s community means so much to me because it has given me a second family. Oak Knoll is a place where everyone supports each other endlessly and encourages you to constantly grow as a person. The connections made with the teachers have truly changed my life. Last year, Mrs. Intartaglia came into my life during her first year at Oak Knoll. On the first day of classes, I was eager to meet my new math teacher and excited for the rest of the year. Throughout the year, I learned that the class she taught would mean so much more than simple equations. Mrs. Intartaglia truly knows how to connect with her students and always teaches us life skills that I will carry with me forever. I am so grateful to have someone like her in my life because she has truly had such a positive impact on me. The athletic programs here at Oak Knoll have truly changed my life, and I am so grateful to have a support system like them in my life. Not only am I an athlete, but I am also a manager of the field hockey team. The Oak Knoll values of kindness, love, trust, and community allow for unbreakable bonds that the team shares with each other. Although I am not a player on the team, I truly feel like I am part of their family – the type of family you will not find anywhere else.
