Be part of Our Story

Nina H. '28

On my first day at Oak Knoll in the sixth grade, I showed up in the wrong color skirt. As a 12-year-old, I was incredibly nervous because I knew making a good impression mattered, and I was convinced my plaid skirt had already ruined it. Nevertheless, the Oak Knoll community welcomed me and has continued to do so ever since. That was the first day I met my second family, even though I didn’t know it yet. The girls in my class, along with Upper and Lower classmen have become my sisters. The kind and caring teachers continue to guide and shape my learning. These relationships are what make Oak Knoll the special community it is. Looking back, the plaid skirt became a symbol of what I found at Oak Knoll: girls whose kindness mattered far more than anything I wore that day.
