Our Future

Oak Knoll's Vision for Tomorrow

During the 2021-22 school year, Oak Knoll embarked on a strategic planning process to help guide the school to continue to “meet the wants of the age” in our dynamic world. At the same time, the school also began the process of developing a Campus Master Plan. Together, these intiaitives will inspire the community as we head toward the upcoming milestone of our 100th anniversary in the 2024-25 school year. Please refer back to this page often as we update the community on our progress.

  • Survey Launched to Community

Every member of the Oak Knoll community was invited to contribute to Triangle Associate’s research phase by participating in a survey. The goal of the survey was to help the consultants get to know Oak Knoll and understand our hopes and goals for the future of our school. In all, Oak Knoll received more than 500 responses to the survey.

  • Site Visit

In November, Oak Knoll welcomed two consultants from Triangle Associates, Judy Schecthman and Abbi DeLessio, to campus. During their visit, they met with small groups of stakeholders in the community including representatives from faculty, staff, students, administrators, trustees, parents, and alumnae/i. The purpose of this visit was to give Judy and Abbi an opportunity to get to know our community firsthand.

  • Oak Knoll Retains Triangle Associates

Head of School Jennifer G. Landis announced to the community that we retained Triangle Associates, a firm based in St. Louis, Missouri, to work with the Board of Trustees and lead our community through the upcoming strategic planning process.

  • Drafts and Revisions of Plan are Developed

The Strategic Plan Steering Committee and the Administrative Team worked to create draft goals based on the information gathered throughout the fall and the half-day retreat with members of our community. The Steering Committee and the Administrative Team submitted a proposed plan to the Board of Trustees that was reviewed on April 12, 2022.

  • Board Review

The Oak Knoll Board of Trustees will review a draft of the proposed Strategic Plan and suggest revisions to the Steering Committee and the Administrative Team.

  • Half-Day Retreat

In early February, Oak Knoll and Triangle Associates held a virtual retreat with 66 members of the community — including faculty/staff, administrators, parents, alumnae/i, Board of Trustees, and students — to finalize research for the plan that will center on themes of academics, community, and mission.

  • Anticipated Board Approval

The Board of Trustees will meet to discuss and, potentially approve, the finalized plan at the June Board meeting.

  • Head of School Presentations

In early December, Head of School Jennifer G. Landis held a series of small coffees for members of our community to gain a more in-depth understanding of the strategic planning process, as well as hear about the upcoming Campus Master Plan and Mission Effectiveness Committee cycles. Mrs. Landis also presented to all of the Upper School student classes.
