Grow with Oak Knoll: Lower School Application Process

Oak Knoll Lower School is where Little Acorns (pre-K) grow through Grade 6 into joyful learners, confident explorers, and compassionate citizens – and we welcome you to join us!

Here, your child will receive a top-rated private Catholic education through vibrant programs that teach them to use their purpose to make a positive impact on the world. We look forward to helping you discover the Oak Knoll difference, and we’re here to help you at every step of the admission process.

Application Process

Our informational tours are a great opportunity to experience an Oak Knoll education firsthand. View and register for all upcoming events here.

The application process begins once you have submitted a brief Student Profile, which provides preliminary family information. The application fee is $75, payable online with Student Profile submission.

Applications for the 2024-25 school year must be submitted by January 15, 2024. Once you’ve submitted the Student Profile, you will have full access to your application portal, which includes a checklist of required application materials. Oak Knoll also accepts the Standard Application Online (SAO). To learn more about using the SAO and begin your application, click here.

Applications received after the deadline will be considered as space allows.

Pre-K and Kindergarten Applicants: Sign up for a Saturday playgroup via the application portal so that we can get to know your child and your child can experience Oak Knoll.

Grade 1 Applicants: Register your child through the application portal for a brief developmental assessment with an admission officer and to spend some time in a classroom.

Grade 2-4 Applicants: Register your child for a visit through the application portal. During the visit, applicants will take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) and spend time in our Oak Knoll classrooms.

Grade 5-6 Applicants: Register for your child to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)) at any testing venue, and register through the application portal for a classroom visit and interview with an admission officer.

Oak Knoll requires recommendations from the applicant’s current teacher(s) and principal/director or guidance counselor. Email the forms to teachers directly through the application portal, and please request recommendations after November 1 (so teachers have time to get to know your child.) All recommendations must be received by the application deadline.

Access the electronic Release of Records Form and email the form directly to your child’s school through the application portal. Your school will be prompted to upload academic records from the previous two school years, and the first report card from the current year (as soon as it is available.) We do not accept mailed transcripts.

Did You Know?

Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 6 are the most common Lower School entry points; however, approximately 10% of new students enter in other grades.
