Oak Knoll Graduates 59 Young Women of Promise During 94th Commencement Ceremony

Janet Pearce ’22, Class of 2022 Valedictorian.

Fifty-nine Oak Knoll students were graduated from the all-girls’ Upper School on Sunday, June 12, 2022, during an outdoor graduation ceremony among family, friends, faculty and staff held at the school’s Summit campus.

Head of School Jennifer G. Landis handed students their diplomas and Janet Pearce ’22, Class of 2022 Valedictorian, delivered the class address.

“My memories gathered from our moments at Oak Knoll may differ from yours, but the messages woven within them of our compassion, strength, joy and success connects our class,” said Pearce, of Morristown. “As we look to the future each of us will use our respective collections as sanctuaries. Take the magic of Oak Knoll evident in the faithful sisterhood that we share with you to college and into the world. Be mindful that no matter where the road leads us that we are so gracefully prepared to be exceptional all because of the defining moments now stored as precious memories that we once shared on this sacred hill in Summit, NJ.”

Following the valedictory address, Dr. Motria O. Ukrainskyj ’78, an Oak Knoll Board of Trustees member for 17 years, a member of Oak Knoll’s alumnae board for nine years and breast surgeon at St. Clare’s Hospital — Women’s Health Center, delivered the graduation address and bestowed advice to the Class of 2022.

“Your path will not always be straight or easy. You may encounter some unexpected twists and turns. However, you have shown that you can deal with the unexpected so as you leave Oak Knoll School and go forth into the future, use your talent and your skill and be the leaders who will shape that future into a brightened tomorrow full of hope and promise.”

Congratulations, Class of 2022!
