Oak Knoll’s Field Hockey Team Takes Union County Tournament Championship

Oak Knoll’s field hockey team (No. 2) won the Union County Tournament title, beating Kent Place (No. 9) 7-2 on October 23, 2021 in Chatham.

This marks the second year in a row in which Oak Knoll School (16-3) has defeated Kent Place (13-3) in the tournament final. Oak Knoll’s Head Field Hockey Coach, Ali Good, said the team was excited to play the Union County final at the school’s home fields in Chatham since it’s typically at a neutral site.

“To be able to earn the top seed and play for a championship at home is so special,” Good said. “Even more special is achieving our team goal of winning counties. It never gets any easier but what impresses me most is our athletes continue to show up, give their best effort and dedicate so much time to our team. It’s always a given that we participate in the Union County Tournament, but the result is never a given. What I enjoy most is the three months’ time spent as a team for us to grow and develop to achieve such an important team goal. It doesn’t happen overnight and to have such a dedicated group of athletes become part of OKSFH tradition is such an accomplishment.”

Emma Ramsey ’23 had two goals and one assist for the Royals while Captain Julia Ramsey ’23 had one goal and two assists. In addition, Morgan Willis ’23 had one goal assist and Captain Mia Albano ’22, Captain Sam Petrucco ’22, Laura Ryan ’23 and Laila Pasic ’24 also scored for Oak Knoll while Madeline Sepe ’23 had a save in goal.
