Nineteen seniors at Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit, New Jersey, earned AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Honors and AP Scholar with Distinction for their performance on Advanced Placement tests, the College Board has announced.

“Congratulations to all of our AP scholars this year,” said Kathleen Moriarty Skiff, Director of College Counseling at Oak Knoll. “This recognition is a remarkable tribute to your academic talent and hard work as well as the dedication of your teachers.”

AP Scholar awards are given each year to students who earned scores of 3 or higher in three or more AP exams.

Current seniors named AP Scholars include: Elizabeth Eck ’22, of Summit; Molly Farrell ’22, of Chatham; Megan Fehrenbach ’22, of Millburn; Elisabeth Keenan ’22, of Summit; Teagan Kocaj ’22, of Summit; Sophia Lambrianakos ’22, of Summit; Lillian Murphy ’22 of Summit; Caroline Nestor ’22, of Madison; Samantha Petrucco ’22, of Short Hills; Sophia Pharaon ’22, of Short Hills; Natalie Sabatino ’22, of Warren; Siobhan Stack ’22, of Bloomfield; Eliana Sylva ’22 of Summit; Kate Urbinato ’22 of Westfield; Sophie Wilkinson ’22 of Randolph.

Sarah McManus ’22, of Chatham; Haley Meehan ’22, of Morristown; and Janet Pearce ’22, of Morristown, were also recognized as AP Scholars with Honor for earning an average score of 3.25 on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams. Lastly, Gabrielle Delano ’22, of Summit, was recognized as AP Scholar with Distinction for earning an average score of 3.5 on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams.

The College Board further announced that Lillian Murphy ’22, Kate Urbinato ’22 and Sophie Wilkinson ’22 were also named as commended students in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program based on their 2021 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Tests (PSAT/NMSQT).

Paula Sefia ’22, of Irvington, was also recognized by the College Board for the National African American Recognition Program based on her October 2020 PSAT scores and her Oak Knoll School GPA. Students considered for the African American Recognition Program must identify as Black or African American (including African and Afro-Caribbean origin) and be permanent residents of the United Stated or a United States Territory.

Emma Burgess ’21, Jodie De Jesus ’21, Emma Gamboa ’21, Kasey Lewis ’21, Caroline Maher ’21, Margaret McCann ’21, Gabriella Molina ’21, Teresa Pollard ’21, Leticia Sefia ’21, Christine Senich ’21, Claire Shurmur ’21, Bryana Slough ’21 and Katherine Whelan ’21, were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction for earning an average score of 3.5 on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams.
