Oak Knoll Senior Madeline Sepe ’23 Receives Women in Sports Award

Oak Knoll senior Madeline Sepe ’23 has been selected as the Oak Knoll Women in Sports Award recipient. She will represent Oak Knoll at the National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) celebration in February — sponsored by the Women’s Sports Foundation. Sepe will join outstanding female athletes from high schools and colleges throughout New Jersey at this annual event which takes place in all 50 states to honor athletic achievement and encourage participation of girls and women in sports.

The Oak Knoll Women in Sports Award is presented each year to a senior who exemplifies everything that makes a student athlete special, with a focus on leadership and making a positive impact on the world. Sepe has excelled as a student athlete and competed in three varsity sports — field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse.

She currently serves as a co-captain of the basketball team and leads the team in rebounds. She also served as the starting goalie for the school’s field hockey and lacrosse teams, and she is the President of the Athletic Council.

“Maddie’s competitive and fearless spirit gives her teammates comfort knowing she’s in goal. She only knows how to give 100 percent, and her teammates and coaches have benefited greatly from her selfless attitude, positive energy, and overall love of being an Oak Knoll student athlete,” said Kelly Childs, Athletic Director.

Congratulations and go Royals!
